Story of the Artwork:

This artwork took in Autumn, 2009, traveling as a backpacker from Sichuan to Yunnan(Shangri-La)inside Daocheng Yading, actually, my destination is Tibet on that trip. “Kora” means Tibetans go around temples, pagodas, or other holy and spiritual places in a clockwise direction. In the process, Tibetans are part of pilgrimages and meditations. They can go around while turning the prayer wheel, or chant mantras. For the pilgrims, walking around the path of holy mountains is another form of “Kora”.

This Artwork was taken at the start point of my “Kora” journey.

I remember I was so peaceful and without fear at that moment. I was just expecting the beautiful scenery and experience I would see ahead and fully immersed in the feelings of mindfulness. I sat in that place I called Eden, waiting for the sunset, feeling I’m in the center of the Universe. And I took this picture at the last minute before I need to go before dark.
